Great Britain entered a team of skaters at the Cup of Europe held in Luso, Portugal from 7th to 10th October 2009.  This was a fantastic event for all the skaters that entered. 

 

The event was dominated by Italy and Portugal as usual.

 

Ben Timbrell was placed 3rd in the Long Program for Youth Men

Monica Dekker was placed 3rd in Minis solo dance

 

It would be great to see more of the British skaters up in the medals for future years.

The AGM of the Federation of Artistic Roller Skating was held at Alfreton on 24th October 2009.  Congratulations to Ron Gibbs for being elected President of the Federation of Artistic Roller Skating for another 3 years.  He won by a convincing majority of the votes.  We look forward to skating moving forward further over the coming 3 years.

 

The Brooks challenge was held in the evening following the AGM.  It was a fun evening of Novelty routines and show numbers.

 

On Sunday 25th October 2009, the FARS Winter Solo competion was also held at Alfreton.  This was a well attended event with clubs entering from across the country.  We had a stand at the event and it was wonderful to talk to so many keen skaters throughout the day.

 

Medway Roller Dance Club are holding their annual competitions at Mote Park Maidstone on 8th November 2009.  Skatermate are hoping to have a stand at this event and look forward to meeting you there.

 

 

The world artistic roller skating championships are being held in Freiburg, Germany from 9th to 21st November 2009.  We wish all the British skaters the best of luck at this event.
