Welcome to the 3rd Newsletter.  We aim to keep you up to date with all that is happening in the skating world.  Please submit details of upcoming competitions, articles, events etc that we can include in our newsletters.

 

Maidstone Roller skating club held their annual competition at Mote Park, Maidstone on 12th and 13th September 2009.  The event was well attended with skaters from many clubs across the country.  We would welcome a full report from any club holding a competition for inclusion in our monthly newsletters.

 

The Junior and Senior European Championships were held in Nazare, Portugal from 14th to 19th September 2009.  The British results were as follows:-

 

Senior Dance - Darren Dyke and Kirsty Chick 7th

Senior Ladies free skating - Katie Beth Lodge 14th

Senior Ladies free skating - Helen Gray 17th

Senior Mens free skating - Andrew Smith 10th

 

 

Great Britain have a team of skaters flying out to Luso Portugal for the Cup of Europe from 7th to 10th October 2009.  The competition is for solo dance and free skating.  We wish all those competing the best of luck.  We would love to receive reports and photos from the skaters, trainers or parents to include in our next newsletter.  Please email us with your reports at skatermates@hotmail.com

 

The Federation of Artistic Roller Skating - FARS is holding its AGM at Alfreton on 24th October 2009 at Alfreton Leisure Centre.  The role of president is up for election and there are four candidates:

Margaret Denham

Dee England

Ron Gibbs

Peter Hicks

 

The Brooks challenge is being held at Alfreton on 24th October 2009.  We wish all competitors the best of luck.

 

The Winter solo dance competition is being held at Alfreton on 25th October 2009.  Skatermate will be having a stall at the competition, so please feel free to come and talk to us about skating.  We love to talk to you at the competitions.  Again we would welcome any reports or photos from any of the clubs attending to include in our next newsletter.  Why not raise your profile and write a report about the event.
